Luistermoeilijkheid in het Engels
120-160 woorden/min
Natuurlijk tempo Engels
Real English at the rhythm of everyday conversation: natural speed, casual contractions, the way English actually sounds outside the classroom.
Natural-pace English runs between 120 and 160 words per minute, the rhythm of relaxed everyday conversation. Speakers contract freely (gonna, wanna, dunno, isn’t), reduce unstressed syllables, link words across boundaries, and pepper their speech with fillers (you know, like, I mean, kind of) the way real talkers do. This is where the gap between textbook English and actual English starts closing. The section is built for intermediate ears: enough challenge that you have to work for the meaning, not so much that you lose the thread. Do not reach for subtitles on the first pass; let the ear track what it can, then go back to fill in. Pick clips on topics you would watch anyway in your native language (daily routines, food, work, opinions) so vocabulary load is light and your attention is free for the rhythm. Treat Natural Pace as comprehension stamina training: watch through, then re-watch the rough patches.
