What does “sheytun” mean in Persian?
Fighting the urge to stop studying, the narrator personifies temptation: «هر سری شیطون گفت پاشو برو، هی میگم نه» (“every time the devil says 'get up and go,' I keep saying no”). شیطون (sheytun, colloquial for شیطان) is “the devil,” but in daily Persian it’s the playful inner gremlin that tempts you to procrastinate, snack, or misbehave.
Call a mischievous kid شیطون and it means “little rascal”; say شیطون گولم زد (“the devil tricked me”) and you’re blaming that same impish voice. The clip’s whole method is resisting it for the first 25 minutes until your “study engine” finally starts. A relatable foe for any student.
