Hoe bereid ik me voor op het luisterexamen DELF B1?
Het luisterexamen DELF B1 gebruikt alledaags Frans op een normaal tempo en elke opname wordt twee keer afgespeeld. Je hoort een kort gesprek en twee radioprogramma’s.

Hoe bereid ik me voor op de luistertoets DELF B1?
Zorg eerst dat je echt op B1-niveau zit en niet nog op A2. Je hoeft B1 niet volledig te beheersen, maar je moet er wel stevig in staan. Zijn de meeste video’s en oefeningen veel te snel? Oefen dan een tijdje op een lager niveau om je oor te trainen, en kom later terug.
Tijdens de toets hoef je niet elk woord te verstaan. Het gaat erom of je de situatie snapt: wie spreekt er, wat willen ze, wat is de hoofdboodschap en wat zijn de belangrijkste details. Je ziet de vragen voordat de opname begint, dus gebruik die tijd. Lees elke vraag en bedenk waar je naar luistert. Een reden? Een getal? Een probleem? Iemands mening?
Kies video’s die bij je niveau passen
De video’s waarmee je oefent moeten precies bij je niveau passen. Zitten ze vol slang en snelle grappen, dan helpen ze je niet, maar verwarren ze je alleen maar. Zo klinkt elk niveau, zodat je weet waar je staat en waar je op moet letten.
A1: je begrijpt langzame, eenvoudige zinnen over het dagelijks leven, zoals familie, vrienden, school, hobby’s en je directe omgeving. Je vangt getallen, tijden en duidelijke mededelingen op, zoals vertrektijden in een stationsomroep. Kies op dit niveau video’s met getallen en tijden, en oefen met het herkennen van losse alledaagse woorden, nog geen hele zinnen.
A2: je begrijpt woorden en zinnen over je directe behoeften, zoals familie, winkelen, de weg vragen, werk, sport, koken en uit eten gaan. Kies video’s over familie en het dagelijks leven om je heen.
B1, jouw niveau: je begrijpt het grootste deel van wat er gebeurt, zolang mensen standaard-Frans spreken. Slang helpt je hier niet, die leidt alleen maar af. Je kunt de hoofdlijnen volgen als iemand een verhaal vertelt, een situatie uitlegt of een mening geeft. Kies video’s waarin mensen verhalen vertellen, dingen uitleggen of hun mening delen over alledaagse onderwerpen, met iets meer detail dan op A2.
B2, je volgende stap: je bent bijna zelfstandig en volgt een breed scala aan onderwerpen, inclusief argumenten voor en tegen. Als je klaar bent voor meer, stap dan over op debatten, documentaires en discussies over maatschappelijke kwesties, plus langere en rijkere verhalen dan op B1.
Je hoort elke opname twee keer
Gebruik de eerste keer luisteren voor de algemene betekenis. Wie spreekt er? Waar zijn ze? Klinken ze blij, geïrriteerd of bezorgd, of geven ze advies? Als er een woord voorbijkomt dat je niet kent, luister dan gewoon verder. Vaak komt het antwoord voort uit de hele situatie, niet uit dat ene woord.
Gebruik de tweede keer luisteren voor de details: namen, getallen, tijden, redenen en de kleine verschillen tussen de antwoordopties. Pas op voor een optie die een woord herhaalt dat je hoorde, maar niet bij de betekenis past. De vragen testen vaak of je het idee begrepen hebt, niet of je een woord herkende.
Luister naar “niet”, correcties en voegwoorden
Hier verlies je makkelijk punten. De audio zegt zelden “Isabelle is kapster”. Er wordt gezegd: “Isabelle is geen kapster, ze is taxichauffeur.” Als je het woordje “geen” mist, kies je met volle overtuiging het verkeerde antwoord. Train je oor op de kleine woorden die een zin omdraaien: “ne... pas”, “mais”, “en fait”, “pas du tout” en “au contraire”.
Voegwoorden zijn net zo belangrijk en vormen eigenlijk het verschil tussen A2 en B1. Ze vertellen je waarom iets gebeurde, wat het gevolg was en wat iemand probeerde te doen. Leer “pourtant”, “en revanche”, “du coup”, “en réalité” en “alors” te horen, en een lange opname is niet langer een muur van woorden. Je begint de structuur te volgen: dit is de oorzaak, dit het gevolg, en hier draait de spreker om en zegt het tegenovergestelde.
Oefen met de officiële DELF-oefentoetsen
Gebruik de gratis DELF B1-oefentoetsen van France Éducation International. Je krijgt het kandidatenformulier, de audiobestanden, de antwoordsleutel en de transcripties. Werk in deze volgorde:
Lees de vragen.
Luister twee keer.
Antwoord.
Controleer de antwoordsleutel.
Lees pas daarna de transcriptie.
De transcriptie helpt enorm, maar tijdens het echte examen krijg je die niet. Open hem dus pas als je de opdracht serieus hebt geprobeerd.
Houd een foutenlijst bij
Noteer na elke oefening wat er misging, niet alleen nieuwe woorden. Heb je de mening van de spreker gemist? Twee vergelijkbare antwoordopties door elkaar gehaald? Een getal verkeerd verstaan? Een “niet” of correctie over het hoofd gezien? De woorden wel begrepen maar de situatie niet? Tien oefeningen met eerlijke aantekeningen leren je meer dan dertig die je haastig afwerkt.
Een goede week combineert beide. Kijk op de meeste dagen naar echt Frans op jouw niveau om je oor te trainen, en maak twee of drie keer per week een volledige officiële luisteroefening om aan het examen te wennen. Zo ontwikkel je zowel een beter gehoor als de juiste examentechniek, precies waar deze toets om vraagt. Kies je video’s dus zorgvuldig, wees geduldig met jezelf en geniet ervan.

Hoe ziet de luistertoets op B1 eruit?
Het luisterdeel (compréhension de l’oral) bestaat uit drie opnames en duurt ongeveer 25 minuten. Elke opname wordt twee keer afgespeeld, met een korte pauze ertussen. Dit hoor je:

Het wordt gesproken op een normaal alledaags tempo. Veel leerders schrikken van het tempo na het langzamere audio uit leerboeken.

Niveau en woorden
Welk niveau en hoeveel woorden heb ik nodig?
Voor luisteren heb je veel minder woorden nodig dan voor lezen. Onderzoek toont aan dat ongeveer 3.000 veelvoorkomende woorden zo’n 95% van normale spraak dekken, en dat de eerste 1.000 woorden het grootste deel van wat mensen zeggen beslaan.
Video is de makkelijkste manier om iets te begrijpen, omdat de beelden je helpen de betekenis te raden. Je hebt dus geen enorme woordenschat nodig. Wel heb je de veelvoorkomende woorden nodig en veel luisteroefening op jouw niveau.

Hoe is dit DELF B1-pakket samengesteld?
Wij hebben het zoekwerk voor je gedaan. We controleren duizenden video’s in het Frans en meten van elke video het niveau, de spreeksnelheid in woorden/min en hoeveel woorden ervan veelvoorkomend zijn. Voor dit pakket hebben we video’s op niveau B1 in standaard-Frans geselecteerd, met een snelheid die dicht bij de toets ligt (ongeveer 188 woorden/min), waarvan ongeveer 97% van de woorden tot de meest gebruikte in gesproken Frans behoort. Daarna hebben we de transcripties handmatig gelezen om de alledaagse onderwerpen van de toets te behouden, en we hebben de duidelijkste en meest visuele video’s vooraan gezet. Ongeveer 3.000 veelvoorkomende woorden dekken al zo’n 95% van normale spraak (Nation 2006), dus dit soort materiaal sluit goed aan op de toets.
Met welke video’s kan ik het beste oefenen voor het luisterdeel van DELF B1?
Gebruik echt Frans dat op een normaal alledaags tempo wordt gesproken, in standaard-Frans en niet in een sterk regionaal accent. Kies de alledaagse onderwerpen die de toets gebruikt, zoals vrije tijd en sociaal leven, reizen en vervoer, eten, dagelijks leven, studie en onderwijs and geld en winkelen. Je hebt geen zeldzame woorden nodig. Ongeveer 3.000 veelvoorkomende woorden dekken het grootste deel van normale spraak (Nation 2006), dus materiaal dat is opgebouwd uit de meest gebruikte gesproken woorden sluit goed aan bij de toets. Een goede mix bestaat uit een alledaags gesprek, een korte radioreportage over werk of studie en een programma over een algemeen onderwerp, want de toets gebruikt al deze vormen. Zo is ook het gratis pakket van 100 video’s hierboven samengesteld.
Wordt de DELF B1-luisteraudio één of twee keer afgespeeld?
Twee keer. Bij het luisterexamen DELF B1 wordt elke opname twee keer afgespeeld, met een korte pauze ertussen, zodat je een tweede kans krijgt om de details op te vangen. Dat is anders dan bij sommige andere examens, waar de audio maar één keer wordt afgespeeld.
Is B1 voldoende voor een Franse verblijfsvergunning of nationaliteit?
Dat hangt ervan af wat je nodig hebt. Sinds januari 2026 is B1 het vereiste niveau voor de Franse verblijfskaart voor langdurig verblijf (carte de résident). Voor de Franse nationaliteit is de eis tegelijkertijd verhoogd van B1 naar B2, dus als dat je doel is kun je je beter richten op DELF B2.
Hoe lang duurt het om B1-niveau te bereiken voor luisteren?
Dat hangt af van hoeveel je luistert en hoeveel je moedertaal op Frans lijkt. Er is geen vast aantal uren. Het nuttigste wat je kunt doen is regelmatig luisteren naar echt Frans op jouw niveau, elke dag een beetje.
Kan ik me gratis voorbereiden?
Ja. De beste gratis oefeningen die op het examen lijken zijn de officiële DELF B1-oefentoetsen, waarin je de echte luisteropdrachten kunt proberen. Daarna is het meest effectieve gratis middel veel luisteren naar echt Frans op jouw niveau. Begin met de 100 video’s hierboven, of kijk meer op YouTube of hier op Reelang.
Wat is het verschil tussen video en audio uit leerboeken?
Audio uit leerboeken is vaak langzaam en heel duidelijk, met acteurs die zorgvuldig spreken. Echte video’s gebruiken een normaal tempo en natuurlijke stemmen, wat dichter bij het examen komt. De beelden helpen je bovendien woorden te raden die je nog niet kent.
