What does “hinna med” mean in Swedish?

Swedish has a verb English lacks: hinna, meaning to have enough time to do something before the moment slips past. Add med and it becomes hinna med — keep up, manage it, don’t fall behind. Hinna is irregular: hinna – hann – hunnit, the same vowel pattern as vinna (win) and finna (find). The negative form hinner inte med is the one you’ll hear most: “Jag hinner inte med allt” (I can’t keep up with everything).
