What does “keeda” mean in Hindi?

Meet Mabel, the aphid whose sweet excretion is honeydew: «मेबल एक छोटा सा कीड़ा है» (“Mabel is a tiny insect”). कीड़ा (keeda) covers insect, bug, and worm all at once.

It crawls into idiom too. A किताबी कीड़ा (kitaabi keeda) is a “bookworm,” and if you have a कीड़ा for something, you’ve got the bug, an itch or obsession you can’t shake (पैसे कमाने का कीड़ा, the money-making bug).
