Word-by-word translations under the subtitles
In our hands right now.
Sometimes a whole-sentence translation does not tell you which word means what. A second line under the subtitles could break the sentence down word by word, and stay blurred until you tap it, so you get a chance to work it out yourself first.
A learner suggested this. It's loosely related to bidirectional translation, a technique some language teachers use where you translate a text into your language and back again to help it stick. We like the idea of borrowing a small piece of that here: word-by-word meaning, but only when you ask for it.
This might be a feature.
