It also replaces the placement step at the start. Learners told us that guessing their level from the first three videos got in the way, and three videos was never enough to place anyone well. Now every tap for something easier or harder teaches us how we're grading: when lots of people we thought were ready for a video reach for something simpler right after starting it, we know we set that one too hard, and we fix it for everyone.
