Äter godis mitt i veckan utan att någon ser

What is lördagsgodis, the Swedish Saturday candy tradition?
In Sweden, candy has its own day: lördag, Saturday. Lördagsgodis joins lördag (Saturday) and godis (candy). The habit runs so deep that eating a big bag of pick-and-mix on a Wednesday can feel like breaking a rule. The idea is simple: save it all for one weekly treat instead of nibbling sweets every day.
The backstory is darker than it sounds. The Saturday-only idea grew out of the Vipeholm experiments, a Swedish study where hospital patients were fed lots of sugar to show it rots teeth. The advice that followed — eat sweets just once a week — became a habit so strong it outlived the science. Today Swedish supermarkets give whole walls to self-serve pick-and-mix, and filling your paper bag is a Saturday event. In this clip, the speaker rips open a candy bag mid-week and acts out a full meltdown — “Det är typ olagligt alltså!” (“It’s basically illegal!”) — which works because every Swedish viewer knows exactly which unwritten rule is being broken.
