What is a “poŝta taglibro” in the Esperanto community?

This creator introduces a real, ongoing project in the Esperanto community: the poŝta taglibro (“postal diary”), a physical notebook that travels by mail from one Esperanto speaker to the next. Each recipient writes a page — a poem, a story, a note about their life — then forwards it to another Esperantist, building a shared, slowly-growing diary with no single author.

The rules, read aloud in the clip, are simple: write in Esperanto only, keep it under five pages, and don’t hold onto the book too long before sending it on. It’s a small, grassroots project that leans on the same kind of trust between strangers that Pasporta Servo — a genuinely long-running, independently documented Esperanto institution — also depends on, just by mail instead of a spare room.
