Toen ik Spaans leerde, keek ik elke film die ik kon vinden — daar kwam mijn echte vloeiendheid vandaan, niet uit een leerboek. Hier zijn dus tien Amerikaanse films die ik liefheb voor Engels: kijk er de eerste keer met ondertitels, daarna zonder, en probeer een paar minuten de acteurs na te doen (shadowen). Ga voor verbinding, niet voor perfectie, en hou het leuk — de vloeiendheid komt vanzelf.
